More than 2,000 moms, dads and miracle babies gathered at Zoo Atlanta on September 29 for a celebration of life and to recognize 30 years of important work in the field of infertility medicine by Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA). From infants to 20-somethings, children and their parents enjoyed face-painting, “dress a bear” and, of course, the animals. On that day, the pandas weren’t the only twins at the Zoo!
The highlight for most, though, was visiting with their RBA doctors and staff. The RBA physicians and staff were thrilled to see former patients and the babies whose lives they helped make possible.
RBA would like to extend a warm thanks to all of the guests, as well as those who were unable to attend, for being a part of their success. Whether you are one of the thousands of families RBA has worked with over the past 30 years, a referring physician or an employee, they couldn’t have done it without you!
RBA Gift of Hope Grant
To commemorate Reproductive Biology Associate’s 30th anniversary and to honor the families they have partnered with over the past three decades, RBA is making a financial contribution to the Cade Foundation. This newly created fund is to benefit future infertility treatment for families in Georgia. Over the years, many patients have asked for a way to help others achieve their dreams of parenthood; this new fund will help make those wishes come true.
Thirty Years of Milestones
Since RBA’s founding in 1983, the Atlanta-based clinic has become a world leader in the development and use of cutting-edge technology in the treatment of infertility. This year, the full-service fertility and IVF practice is recognizing 30 years of service, resulting in more than 30,000 babies for couples who thought they might never have children due to a full range of fertility issues. RBA treats all related conditions.
Together, the physicians of RBA boast more than 175 years of cumulative experience in diagnosing and treating infertility and have joined with the clinic’s scientists and staff to mark numerous milestones through the years. Among them:
- One of the country’s first three programs to achieve a pregnancy from a frozen embryo
- First IVF pregnancy/birth in Georgia
- First frozen egg pregnancy/birth in the U.S.
- First to use a gestational carrier
- First ICSI birth in the U.S. (intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection)
- Creator of the largest frozen donor egg bank
- Development of the highly successful egg-freezing method known as vitrification
Reproductive Biology Associates heralds great success rates with single embryo transfers, minimizing multiple births, because of the high quality of its lab work. And the future continues to be wide open for RBA, whose world-class embryology team is continually working toward further groundbreaking developments.
